Romantic Getaway In The Jungle-River Rendezvous
This is a romantic getaway package in Costa Rica, ideal for those celebrating their enduring love, or for those beginning their new life together.  Want a longer stay?  Add on a couple of nights stay at Manuel Antonio's white sand beaches or the famous Arenal Volcano, hot spring, spas & adventure activities.

Day 1 (Arrival / San Jose Airport): PU at San Jose International Airport.   Hotel representative will meet you outside customs and welcome you to Costa Rica and transfer you to Grano de Oro Boutique Hotel. Check in to your spacious Garden Suite, with bathroom jacuzzi tub and sitting room that opens to a private tropical garden.  Begin your romance with reservations for dinner at Grano de Oro’s exquisite, widely renowned restaurant.  Get some rest before you start your river rendevous.
Overnight Grano de Oro (No Meals included this day)

Day 2:  Catch some rays while relaxing in the rooftop Jacuzzi, or explore the vibrant beat of San Jose, the capital of San Jose.  Grano de Oro is a sanctuary in the heart of the city and it is easy to travel by taxi to the Gold Museum, National Theater (exact replica of the Paris Opera House), National Museum and Old Fort, Jade Museum, Lankaster Botanical Gardens and more.  Or ask our agents to set up one of the wonderful coffee tours!

Day 3: Get ready for excitement.  The rafting company will pick you up around 6 AM (you will need to call the day before for exact pickup time).  On the scenic drive to the river you will stop for a lovely, typical breakfast (Drive time approximately 1-1/2 hours) before you begin the first leg of your high adrenalin adventure on the Class II-IV rapids of the Pacuare River.

Listen as your guides brief you with safety training and a quick introduction to white water rafting, you’ll be paddling through rapids and floating past lush tropical foliage. After 90 minutes on the river, you will arrive at the Pacuare Lodge, where you’ll be greeted with a tropical drink and taken to your spacious River View Bungalow (Honeymoon Suite is also available).  After a delicious lunch in the main lodge, you can ascend to the treetops and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the rainforest while gliding along cables of the canopy tour. Later that evening, its candle light, champagne on ice, tree-frog serenade and delectable gourmet dinner (Hot beverages are included; sodas and alcoholic beverages extra) at Nairi Awari Restaurant (or in your suite for an additional fee).
Overnight Pacuare Lodge  (B/L/D)

Day 4:  Awaken to a symphony of birds as you enjoy breakfast in the privacy of your suite before embarking on this day’s adventures. Hike through forest and farmland to the village of Bajo del Tigre, an agricultural community where the rafting company helps the local school and promotes environmental education and reforestation. You’ll visit the school and a home, where they’ll probably offer you a typical snack. If you wish, you can plant a tree and contribute to the efforts to reforest areas along the river and to help offset carbon. There’s also a stop at a small waterfall where you can take dip.

You’ll be back at the lodge in time for lunch. Settle into your River View Bungalow until time for your massage. Then enjoy wine and cheese, and relax in the hammock, or search out the zone’s hidden treasures, including colorful hummingbirds before indulging in another award-winning dinner.
Overnight Pacuare Lodge River View Bungalow (B,L,D)

Day 5:  Enjoy hot breakfast in your bungalow and a short hike to a waterfall in our private forest reserve before embarking on the remainder of an unforgettable white water rafting trip. This exciting journey takes you through class III–IV rapids, narrow canyons and forested valleys past waterfalls, exuberant foliage and an array of birdlife that includes toucans, herons and kingfishers. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch by the riverbank on a farm owned by Cabecar Indians before embarking on the last stretch of the Pacuare.  At  the river take-out in Siquirres, you’ll have a chance to change into dry clothes.  Your guides will prepare a complimentary CD of your river rafting tip.  Enjoy a beer, or soft drink with your fellow rafters (not included) before heading back to San Jose for more pampering at the Grano de Oro where you will spend your last night in the country.  Don’t want to end your vacation here??  Continue your adventure, ask our agents about adding a couple of nights at Arenal  Volcano, the beaches of Manuel Antonio, of both!!!
